Former Aston Villa defender Jlloyd Samuel was one of three trialists in the Leeds United squad at Rochdale on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old has made over 300 career appearances since starting out at Aston Villa and he has also featured for Gillingham, Bolton Wanderers and Cardiff City.

Samuel spent the final month of last season on loan at Cardiff and is now available after being released by Bolton Wanderers.

Midfielder Isaiah Osbourne was another trialist in the Leeds squad. The 23-year-old former Aston Villa trainee has 58 career appearances to his name and most recently figured for Sheffield Wednesday last season.

He has also had loan spells at Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough.

United boss Simon Grayson named both former Villa among his substitutes at Rochdale, but a third, unnamed trialist was included in the starting XI.
